…we’ve walked along some public footpaths, and done a spot of geo-caching. We’ve devised new treasure hunts and been on a safari expedition – kitted out with explorer rucksacks on their backs. We’ve even tried to be budding cameramen with the boys taking turns with the video camera. Kids love tech.

People are often fascinated by maps, perhaps because they offer a visual glimpse of ‘their place’ in the country [and the world]. Give someone an electronic map, and you can bet one of the first things they’ll do is punch in their post-code, and ‘zoom-in’ on their own home.
